SUMMARY:Bärner Münschterturm Konzert I
DESCRIPTION:TURMKONZERTE: “METAMORPHOSE” \n\n\n\nSaxophone duo: Simon Fluri and Sira Pellicer \n\n\n\nWorks by C. Lauba\, G.P. Telemann\, N. Fernández Ezquerra\, S. Reich \n\n\n\nThe theme of metamorphosis relates to the concert on various levels: on the one hand\, it represents the development of Bern Cathedral and the Urania Observatory\, which have been added to\, renovated and refurbished over the years. The transformation of the significance and use of these monuments in today’s society is also thematised. On the other hand\, it refers to the musical programme\, in which metamorphosis is a central theme. The musical programme is varied. From baroque masterpieces to contemporary compositions and music with electronics\, the musical diversity of the saxophone is brought to the fore. \n\n\n\nTexts by Max Frisch and Bernese authors

SUMMARY:Lítore Quartet: Selkie
DESCRIPTION:“Selkie”: An opera for saxophone quartet. With the support of INAEM. \n\n\n\nA collaboration of Lítore Quartet and Brais González | Joventuts Musicals d’Alaior (Menorca) \n\n\n\nLítore Quartet presents Selkie\, a project in which this young group explores an innovative format of musical and scenic work in the field of chamber music. Brais González\, the composer of the work that gives its name to the programme\, has defined it as a ‘scenic tale for saxophone quartet’. The visual and narrative component of Selkie is strengthened through the use of voice-overs\, live declamations\, the use of stage space\, costumes and lighting. The four members of Lítore assume a hybrid role between musicians\, actors and narrators\, constructing a unique audiovisual experience. \n\n\n\nSelkie takes us to one of the most fascinating stories of Celtic mythology\, inspired by the Atlantic coasts of Scotland and creatures that look like seals but are able to adopt human form. With a background based on the ideas of freedom and emancipation\, the narrative evolves between the land and the sea\, represented in the stage space\, and through 4 characters: Ailsa\, a Selkie forced to live out of the water; Duncan\, a sailor in search of a wife; Lachlan\, a companion of Ailsa’s seal group; and Callum\, a northern fulmar\, Lachlan’s friend. \n\n\n\nAaron Siebert’s The Sobbing of the Phoenix and William Albright’s Pypes introduce the theme of Celtic mythology in the first part of the programme. Both works include explicit references to the bagpipes\, one of the main instruments of Celtic music\, which will bring us progressively closer to the Scottish waters\, where Selkie’s story begins.

SUMMARY:Master's recital: AGAINST REALITY
DESCRIPTION:Toni-Areal\, Konzertsaal 3 \n\n\n\nDear audience\, \n\n\n\n“Against Reality” is a journey about the intangible and the changing through music and movement. \n\n\n\nOne of the reasons that brought me to Zurich was the possibility to be in contact with other arts\, especially theatre\, with which I have been familiar since my childhood. \n\n\n\nChamber music is also an important part of my musical identity\, and I thought it only fair to close this stage with what motivates my artistic path. \n\n\n\nThe mysticism and metamorphosis of this music leads us to personal exploration\, and thus to connect with our essence. This concert is an analogy to personal and vital change. This has been a year of many changes and new personal and professional situations\, and I couldn’t help but make this creative process my own. \n\n\n\n“Against Reality” is about the infinite ways of believing: for those who need to believe in something spiritual to follow their life path\, those who do it alone by believing in themselves or those who have the support of someone who believes for them. \n\n\n\nThanks to all those who believed possible what was in my imagination: “Imagination proclaims the possible against reality”.
